Why do we require an application?

Our application process is in response to two of the most common questions our Riders have prior to booking a trip with us:

1) Am I skilled/fit enough to participate in this Ride?
2) Will the other people on my Ride be skilled/fit enough?

Ensuring that you - and the other Riders on your Ride - are a good fit for the Ride selected is of paramount importance to us. We want to help you pick the Ride that's perfect for you, and ensure that everyone booked on a Ride is on the right Ride for them. That's why we want to know a bit more about you - your mountain biking history, where you ride, how often, etc... - before we take your money.

We review every application and if, based on your responses, we think you're a good fit, we'll approve your application and you'll receive a link to place a deposit. If we think you might not be a good fit (either too skilled or not skilled enough for the Ride you chose), then we'll give you a call to discuss your preferences in greater detail.

Please note: our application process isn't about excluding anyone, or making anyone feel like they're not 'good enough' to participate in one of our Rides. It's about ensuring that you end up on the right Ride for you, with people of similar skill, fitness and riding preferences. In the end this ends up being a much better experience for everyone.

Welcome to mountain biking's best-kept secret. Few places on earth offer such a wild urban ride. From miles of purpose-built singletrack that flows through towering pine forests to big-water views, you'll lose yourself in space and time.

"How  can this be  in a city?"  you might ask  as you  start off  with a  mellow , steady climb on flow trail that parallels the basalt cliffs along  Lester River.   Wind through birch, maple, and pine forests before cranking up one last set of switchbacks  to  Hawk Ridge, almost three miles of technical singletrack  overlooking Lake Superior. Stop  to take in the views  before trying to ride this  technical  stretch full of  roots, rocks.    Back in the forest, the  trail flows uphill  for a few miles to  640-acre Hartley Park, an urban singletrack playland that loops around an inland lake, swerves through tight trees, and across wetland boardwalks. Nothing here is too steep or technical, so be prepared for fast, flowing fun.  After  riding a few miles of Hartley,  we'll head over for a locally sourced lunch at a local favored eatery.   Then we'll descend back to the flow trails of Lester River and Amity Creek and, if you're brave enough, a  refreshing dip in the  Big  Lake.

IS THIS RIDE FOR YOU?

Advanced beginners to experts love this ride because the purpose-built singletrack is expertly designed for all levels, offering multiple trailheads that lead to doubletrack options for less experienced riders and alternate "B lines" for experts. Since the trail can be ridden in both directions, there are myriad options to adjust the level of riding.
